Please note that Ayurvedic massages are not designed primarily or purely for relaxation purposes but as a means of therapy. They can be wonderfully relaxing but have been scientifically developed to assist in the detoxification of ama (toxins) in the body and often prescribed as a course of treatment. Following a treatment the patient may feel either full of energy or more sleepy than usual, possibly nauseous and most likely thirsty.
Listen to the body in all cases!
